Nashville may be known for country music, but Deep Tropics is helping solidify Music City as a major hub for EDM, too.
This year’s heavy-hitting, multi-genre electronic lineup includes RL Grime, Kaskade, Nora En Pure and many more. But the festival isn’t just known for its top-tier artist bookings and jaw-dropping audiovisual production.
Deep Tropics, which is considered “the greenest festival in North America” offers an array of wellness and sustainability events. Bridging the gap between cultural elements like music, fashion, food and wellness, this year’s activities are all woven together through the thread of sustainability.
Here are five things you can’t miss at Deep Tropics 2024.
Deep Culture Sustainability Summit
Industry professionals, government officials and engaged citizens will converge on August 15th, the day before Deep Tropics begins, to discuss and showcase regenerative solutions for Nashville.
The first annual Deep Culture Sustainability Summit will take place from 3-7pm with the goal of inspiring the city to cultivate a healthier future for all through social innovation. For more information, head here.
Tropical Paradise Runway Show with Soho House Fashion Club
Interested in sustainable design and fashion? The Soho House Fashion Club will present an eco-conscious fashion show in collaboration with local designers.
Head to the Lotus Stage on Saturday from 2:40-2:55pm to explore the unique, eco-friendly designs that aim to redefine festival fashion.
Lolu Ice Bath Activation
Those looking to escape the Nashville heat can cool down, tune in and recharge with free ice baths and breathwork sessions behind the Lotus Stage. Showers, changing rooms, and towels will be available.
The activation will host daily sessions between 3:30 and 6pm.
Breathwork and Yoga with DJ Drez & Marti Nikko
The main stage in Meru Amphitheater will transform into an oasis for breathwork and yoga on Saturday.
An eclectic set by DJ Drez will set the perfect backdrop to an impactful wellness journey. An influential figure in the global yoga and dance communities, DJ Drez is known for balancing ecstatic dance parties and peaceful, meditative moments.
Farm-to-Table Lunch
A special farm-to-table lunch will be available for those interested in regenerative agriculture and seasonal food. This event will take place at the Deep Culture Speakeasy on Saturday. During the lunch, which will be accompanied by a live jazz band, four courses will be served to highlight seasonal ingredients from local farms.
All proceeds from the limited-capacity lunch will benefit the nonprofit Deep Culture, which curates transformative experiences tied to sustainability. To learn more and to support Deep Culture’s community impact, click here.
Beyond those five events, Deep Tropics will also host a slew of additional pop-ups, installations and experiences centered around wellness and sustainability.
“We really go all out to make sure there’s plenty of places for people to rest and get educated,” co-founder Joel Atchison recently shared in an exclusive EDM.com interview. “We see Deep Tropics as a bridge between party and purpose.”
Enjoy healthy beverages at the Alchemist Apothecary Pop-Up or check out the Eco Burlesque Show. Deep Tropics will also host a sunset drum circle as well as a “Psychedelic Comedy Show.” Need to chill and relax for a bit? The “Healing Sanctuary” will be open to help you rejuvenate.
The festival will take place at Nashville’s Bicentennial Park from August 16-17. Tickets are available here.
