Brookdale Senior Living’s (NYSE:BKD) weighted average occupancy came in at 78.2% in June, up from 78.1% in May and 76.8% a year ago, the company said on Tuesday.
The owner of senior living communities attributed the Y/Y growth to move-in volumes above the pre-pandemic average and move-outs below the prior year period, as adjusted for dispositions.
Both June and second quarter weighted average occupancy results reflected a continued outperformance versus pre-pandemic normal seasonality, it noted.
BKD slipped 2% in after-hours trading.
