Tonight, we are trying something we haven’t done yet thus far and take the most expensive player on the slate. It shouldn’t take you too long to guess that it is Aaron Judge. Now, there are plenty of ways you can spend his salary, but why not take the best power hitter in baseball and have some fun watching him tear up the White Sox tonight? Let’s see what else we can come up with for tonight’s 11-game slate that starts at 6:35pm EST.

Tyler Anderson SP $8,700 – There are only 2 pitchers with higher salaries than Tyler Anderson, but it feels like we can’t begin lower than him as our number 1 SP. Anderson has been solid this year, with a 2.99 ERA this season. He’s also coming off 3 20-point performances in his last 4 starts. Hopefully, he can pitch around Vlad and make the rest of the mediocre Blue Jays lineup beat him. Fully expecting a 20 piece from Tyler Anderson tonight.
David Peterson, SP: $7,300 – Peterson is a risk and reward pick here. He faces off against the lowly A’s who do have some pop in that lineup. His season numbers are modest with a 3.34 ERA but a 1.42 WHIP. That’s a tad alarming but shows he’s been able to get out of trouble often. For this price point, he’s worth a gamble that he can get around 15 points or so, but it comes with the risk of him getting shelled by a lackluster opponent. Based on the other SP in the slate, certainly seems like it’s worth the risk.
Alec Burleson, 1B: $4,300 –Not sure if you’ll be as surprised as I was when I found out that Burleson was hitting .272 with 20 homeruns this season, but I thought that needed to be pointed out. He’s regularly atop the batting order and producing quality games from a DFS perspective. The Reds are going with a bullpen game in Cincinnati, so this seemingly lines up nicely for Burleson.
Nico Hoerner 2B: $4,200 – It is difficult to suggest making a pick for a player with little power with the hope that he might get us a home run. However, Hoerner is a little different with his ability to swipe bags. He has 22 on the season, including 2 last night. If he can get on base, he can make a fantasy impact. We’re hoping for double-digits but will take high single digits.
Junior Caminero, SS: $3,100 – This price is too good to pass up. Caminero was called up for yesterday’s game and went 1-4 in his season debut. He should continue to get regular at bats in this Rays lineup both tonight and the rest of the season. In 53 games in AAA he had 13 homers and 34 RBI while hitting .276, so he has some power, he gets on base, and he can drive in runs. These are all recipes for success in DFS, and given the price point of $3,100, we’ll take a stab with Caminero.
Victor Robles, OF: $3,500 – Robles has taken the baseball world by storm since joining the Seattle Mariners. He’s their leadoff hitter for the time being and sets the table for this offense. He doesn’t have crazy power numbers but is regularly picking up hits, steals, and runs. He has the ability to go for 20+ points on any night, and after the drubbing the Mariners took against the Tigers yesterday, I think he’ll want to get the game started with a bang.
Aaron Judge, OF: $6,900 – Well, he hasn’t homered in 2 games, so it’s about time Aaron Judge goes deep against the White Sox. Perhaps the price point doesn’t even correlate for 1 home run, but his average of 11.9 is too good to pass up based on some of our other picks. There’s not much more that needs to be said. The man is having a spectacular season and it seems like he homers every night. Plug him in, sit back, and watch the ball fly out of the park.
