Primark is freezing prices on hundreds of kids’ back to school essentials – including shoes, backpacks, lunchboxes and stationery – offering customers bargains at the same low prices as 2021.

Prices across other essential kids’ items are also being frozen, including jeans, joggers, long-sleeved t-shirts and jackets, as the value retailer looks to help British households that are continuing to feel the pinch – with almost half (48%) expecting to spend less this year because of the rising costs of everyday products.

It means a Primark outfit consisting of a long-sleeved t-shirt, leggings and a zip-through hoodie can be picked up for just £7.10.

Gavin Daniels, Director of Kidswear at Primark, said: “We know that buying for your kids never gets easier, as they continue to grow and kids’ clothing really needs to go the extra distance.

“That’s why we’re locking in great value by freezing our prices which we hope will take away some of the pressures on families’ finances at this time of year.

“Our message to any worried shoppers this year is simple: At Primark, you’re guaranteed great value and style at super affordable prices, with the added reassurance that our clothes are made to last.”

The new price freezes will apply to selected kids’ clothing available both in store and on its Click & Collect service, which is currently available in 57 stores in England and Wales.

The news comes as the retailer also announced it will be expanding the Click & Collect service to all its stores in the UK by the end of 2025.

Customers can also browse the Primark website and use the stock checker to see whether a style and size is in stock before heading into store.
