Queen Maxima of the Netherlands returned to her power suiting ways for a royal daytime engagement on Monday. The royal spent time with youth for the Mind Us foundation initiative, which puts a focus on the mental health of adolescence. Queen Maxima is a chairwoman for the Mind Us foundation.
For the daytime event, Queen Maxima opted for a wool and silk satin suit courtesy of Max Mara. The suit featured coordinated blazer and trousers in the same shade of light teal. The single-breasted blazer also featured sharp lapels and slight pockets.

Queen Maxima’s trousers featured a wide-leg fit. Along with the colorful suit, Queen Maxima added a white cotton shirt to give the look a slightly casual edge. Queen Maxima previously wore the Max Mara suit for another visit with the Mind Us organization last May.
She paired the suit with other neutral pieces, including a pair of nude patent leather pumps courtesy of Ferragamo, which featured a bow embellishment. When it came to her accessories, Queen Maxima wore a pair of fan earrings courtesy of Jar Jewelry.

Known for her sartorial whimsy and use of playful patterns and colors, Queen Maxima’s recent power suit moment highlights an element of her royal wardrobe that puts an emphasis on clean lines, while still embracing the colorful palette to which the royal often gravitates.
Queen Maxima has also demonstrated a certain versatility when it comes to her iteration on the power suit. Last April, the royal put a monochrome spin on power suiting, wearing a bordeaux suit by Claes Iversen with coordinated shoes and accessories.

While Queen Maxima generally favors playful pieces by her go-to designer Natan, the royal has been known to demonstrate her sartorial adaptability given the occasion or event. For a daytime royal engagement, such as her visit for Mind Us on Monday, Queen Maxima’s power suiting moment showed the royal meant business while still embracing soft whimsy.
