Grammy award-winning Spanish singer Rosalia has been named as a global ambassador for Dior and is the face of its latest ‘Lady Dior’ bag campaign.

American fashion photographer and artist Collier Schorr has captured Rosalia in black and white in an intimate setting. She is seen clutching different versions of the bag that was made famous by Princess Diana, or Lady Diana as she was also known.

It was on a visit to Paris in September 1995, for the opening of the Paul Cézanne retrospective at the Grand Palais, that Princess Dianna was offered a Dior bag to wear on her various outings. Thanks to her being an “exceptional ambassador”, the bag’s name was then given as ‘Lady Dior’.

Described as “a jewel of craftsmanship”, the bag “embodies all the excellence of the House”. Celebrating the skills of the Dior ateliers, the piece is crafted in Italy. Its leather, delicately stitched with the emblematic cannage, enhances its architectural lines, while each detail is “conceived with infinite meticulousness”, including Dior charms.

Over the years, the bag has blossomed in a multitude of colours, sizes and materials. Its renaissance, season after season, is now carried by the vision of Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, who has redesigned it in new shades and formats, from Lady D-Lite to Lady D-Joy.

In the new campaign, Rosalia is described as being “unveiled, sublimely radiant”. Amid light and shadow, Schorr “eloquently captures Rosalía’s natural singularity, her magnetic aura, the way she makes Lady Dior her own, letting the many expressions of elegance shine forth”.
