T-Pain has used his new mental health-themed track, “On This Hill,” for the greater good of his fanbase.
To celebrate its release, the rapper teamed up with online and mobile therapy company Talkspace to give away free therapy sessions to a few of his fans for the next year. He initially shared the song on Friday (May 17) in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
“This song is really about refusing to be gaslit anymore,” T-Pain said in a statement about the purpose of the song. “It’s about coming to a realization that I have to stand up for myself. Over the years, that has just been something I’ve had to open my eyes to and learn how to deal with it. So yeah, I’ll die on this hill, ha!”

Earlier this month, the “Buy U A Drank” singer explained that he was planning to establish an educational institution in Wisconsin, after bringing pride and joy to the state on the strength of his 2008 smash hit “Can’t Believe It,” in which he famously rhymed “mansion” and “Wiscansin.”
This was something he’d previously promised the Milwaukee Jouranl Sentinel back in 2023.
“I just really felt like I was Andre 3000 when I was recording that song,” he told Billboard, speaking about “Can’t Believe It.” “That was my spirit animal that I had on me while I was recording that song.”
He continued: “Again, that fostered the era of the ‘mansion in Wiscansin’ infamous rhyme. And since then, we’ve been really able to incorporate that into everything. […] All my tours that I go on now are Wisconsin based. We have a ‘Wiscansin University.’ All the merch is ‘Wiscansin’ based. We’re actually starting a school in Wisconsin. It’s a music school.”

T-Pain then went on to show Lil Wayne some love, claiming that working with him was “awesome.”
Wisconsin, for its part, has shown T-Pain love in return.
Back in 2022, he was officially recognized by the Badger State during a stop on his Road To Wiscansin Tour.
Instead of delivering a solo concert, T-Pain treated fans to Wiscansin Fest, where he was joined by other artists such as Lil Jon, Juvenile, Yung Bleu, K Camp, O.T. Genasis and more.
