Cardi B Seemingly Claps Back At Ice Spice Over Perceived ‘Y2K!’ Shade

Cardi B appears to have hit back at Ice Spice after she seemingly threw shade at her on her new album Y2K!

The song “BB Belt” leaked on Thursday (July 25) ahead of the project’s release at midnight, with many — including Cardi herself — perceiving that Spice was taking aim at the “Bodak Yellow” star.

On the track, Ice Spice raps: “Think she pretty, but changin’ her face / Fallin’ behind like, bitch, pick up your pace / It was funny ’til I took her place / Her man callin’, but I be like, ‘Who this?’”

Shortly after the song leaked online, Cardi hit out at unnamed female rivals on social media.

She wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “These bitches have absolutely lost their mind… I’m getting all my lick backs on my album tho …ON EACH ONE OF YOU BITCHES !!!”

Cardi added: “These bitches can’t see me in numbers or status, y’all had WAY too much time to catch up. Can’t see me in money, can’t see me in real estate, fashion, and CAN’T SEE ME IN PERSON either.

“I’m not in a rat race with none of you bitches!! And ima show yall.”

Ice Spice has yet to clarify whether the line is aimed at Cardi.

Issues between the Bronx natives appear to have been brewing for around a year, with Cardi B appearing to slight Ice Spice during her performance at Hot 97 Summer Jam last July.

During her set, Bardi transitioned into “Tomorrow 2” by playing the Annie song “Tomorrow” and projecting images of orphan Annie twerking on the giant onstage screen behind her.

Many fans couldn’t help but note the striking resemblance between the ginger curly-haired character and Ice Spice, and believed Cardi was throwing shade at her younger peer.

However, Cardi later shot down this claim, saying on social media: “For y’all muthafuckas that’s on Twitter tryna be messy, please, cut the bullshit.

“I don’t — that’s not me, like come on now. First of all, y’all been wanting me to be messy all things. Y’all wanted me to be messy on the song, y’all wanted me to — nah, come on now.”

She added: “Cut the bullshit, please. Get the mop. Y’all being too messy and y’all being annoying.”
