DFS: Braves Big Name Bats Stay Hot In St. Louis

0

We’ve been trying to find a middle ground between stacks and no stacks. Tonight feels like a prime opportunity for a Braves stack against the Cardinals. We may be going in a little blind, as there will be a double-header today, so some guys might get the second game off. Be prepared to adjust. Matthew Liberatore gets the start for the Cards. He has a 4.46 ERA this year in 38 innings pitched. He hasn’t gone more than 4 innings in any appearance this year. The Braves can and will get to him early and then get to the Cards bullpen. Tonight’s games start at 7:10pm EST, let’s see what we can come up with.

Gavin Stone SP $8,800 – Stone has been one of the Dodger’s best and most consistent arms this season (besides Glasnow of course). He has a 3.04 ERA, with 1.20 WHIP, and 63Ks over 80 innings. He’s not a huge strikeout pitcher, but he’s been getting deep into games while limiting the damage against him. Tonight, he faces one of the worst teams and offenses in the MLB, the Chicago White Sox. Fully expect Stone to keep rolling and even surpass his season average of 16.8 fppg.

Simeon Woods Richardson, SP: $6,900 – Woods Richardson is a value pick for SP tonight. He’s at a solid price for his performance as of late. He has one dud of 4.2 points over his last 5 starts, with all others reaching over 12. This value doesn’t come without risk. While the D-backs are not the best team in the league, their offense has some players that can do damage at the plate in Marte, Walker, and yes, even Corbin Carroll. I still like Woods Richardson in this spot but won’t be offended if you do not.

Matt Olson, 1B: $5,000 –The lefty on lefty matchup does not scare me with Olson. He’s had a slow week or so, with multiple 0-point games, but he’s capable of mashing homers at any time. I have complete faith in Olson tonight. Even when he’s cold, he doesn’t stay that way for long.

Spencer Horwitz, 2B: $3,900 – Where did this guy come from? I can’t say I’m sure but he has been solid with 8.1 points per game (yes, I know he had 1 huge game mixed in there). He’s had only 2 games of the last 15 where he’s had less than 5 points. I’m fully aware that 5 points is not a lot, but his potential to surpass that is intriguing. He’s hitting .348 with a 1.013 OPS during these 15 games. Let’s ride this hot streak to the green.

Austin Riley: $5,100 –2 weeks ago, having Riley in the lineup at this price would be malpractice. However, over his last 10 games, he is hitting .441 with a 1.000 OPS and has 5 home runs, 4 doubles, 10 RBI, and 10 Runs. Yeah, he’s found his swing and is comfortable at the plate after a slow start. Ride Riley to the moon.

David Hamilton: SS: $4,200 – This guy is an electric factory. He lucks into a homer every once in a while, but he gets on base and steals a ton of bases. He averages 7.5 per-game with the ability to get well over that just by getting on base 1 time. Obviously, let’s make sure he’s in the lineup. If he is, we have to play him.

Jarred Kelenic, OF: $3,600 – Have to have the Braves stack with the leadoff hitter. One disclaimer, he might sit against the lefty starter, so be prepared to insert Adam Duvall in Kelenic’s place. Assuming he’s in the lineup, Kelenic is on one of his patented hot streaks, and it’s always fun to be along for that ride. He will eventually cool off, but not today. He’ll set the pace for our other Braves in the lineup as they put up a big number against the Cards tonight.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

As of 10am EST Wednesday, there is no potential for delays or rainouts. 40% chance of rain in St Louis today, that would be a bummer. Tons of options for replacements, and you can even insert Murphy or d’Arnaud in at catcher to bolster the stack if you’d like. Close to 10mph winds blowing out to right field in Chicago, so hopefully Stone can keep it on the ground for most of this one. You may even want to consider sneaking a Dodger or 2 into the lineup if you can.

Doing Lines In Vegas

The Blue Jays/Red Sox matchup has the highest total of the evening at 9.5. Also, not a surprise here, but the Dodgers are the biggest favorite at -180 in Chicago.
