Luxury French house, Givenchy, has appointed Alessandro Valenti, who was most recently EMEA President of Louis Vuitton, to the role of CEO.

Valenti succeeds Renaud De Lesquen, who had been CEO of the storied house since 2020. According to the press release, he has decided to take a new direction in his career.

Prior to his new appointment, Valenti worked at Versace, Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren before heading to LVMH in 2014. His first role at the luxury conglomerate was as Managing Director of Louis Vuitton France and Monaco. He was then appointed President of North-Central Europe and Africa and most recently held the role of EMEA President of Louis Vuitton from 2020.

Despite this new appointment, Givenchy has yet to appoint its new Creative Director after Matthew Williams exited the house back in January 2024. Williams departed to “fully dedicate” his attention to his signature brand 1017 Alyx 9SM.

Givenchy, which is part of the LVMH portfolio, isn’t the only house to have undergone c-suit reshuffles as of late. In February, Michael Burke succeeded Sidney Toledano to become Chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group. However, Toledano later returned to the role.

Last week, LVMH announced Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou as the new CEO of Fendi. Meanwhile, the industry awaits the upcoming Celine Creative Director,

Sidney Toledano, CEO of LVMH, said in a statement: “Alessandro has 25 years of international experience. His extensive knowledge of the luxury industry, including more than 10 years at Louis Vuitton, coupled with his retail expertise and managerial skills, will be key assets in taking Givenchy to reach new milestones.”
