Lone Design Club (LDC), the platform that supports emerging designers and sustainable brands, is returning to Islington Square in London with a new 1,500 sq ft pop-up running from 10-30 July, under the banner ‘Summer Retreat at the Club’.

It will follow on from its current ‘Escape (To) The City’ pop-up in Canary Wharf, which sees its last day today, 2 July.

LDC last had a pop-up at Islington Square in 2021 and the new space is celebrating ‘Plastic Free July’, with a curated selection of sustainable and ethically produced high fashion apparel and accessories from a variety of “digital-native’ brands.

This includes Mini Cyber, known for its futuristic designs and eco-friendly pieces, Organic Hanger, with its collection of organic, naturally dyed garments that are “as gentle on the skin as they are on the environment”, and Safarrah Designs, which combines traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.

There will also be handmade ethically produced accessories from Dorota Bojanowska, and Azaleri will be presenting a range of contemporary clothing that focuses on minimalist designs and sustainable materials.

Alice McNulty, COO of Lone Design Club, said: “We are excited to return to Islington Square for Plastic Free July. This pop-up store reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable and ethical fashion. We believe that by connecting consumers directly with independent designers we can foster a greater appreciation for the stories and values behind each product.’

Georgia Perry-Hilsdon, Senior Associate at Cain International (joint venture investors in the Islington Square development), added: “We are delighted to welcome Lone Design Club back to Islington Square this summer for Plastic Free July.

‘Its innovative concept beautifully complements our existing leisure, retail and F&B offerings, and will bolster Islington Square’s offering as one of London’s premier destinations.”

The store will also host a schedule of immersive events “designed to delight customers” and raise awareness about sustainability.

These will include engaging workshops and weekly “sip and shop” events where attendees will have the chance to meet the designers, delve into their inspiring stories, and gain insights into sustainable fashion practices and the importance of ethical production.
