New York Community Bancorp (NYSE:NYCB), the regional lender that secured a $1B capital injection last month, said Friday is named Craig Gifford as its chief financial officer.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the banking sector, Gifford most recently served as executive vice president, Enterprise Operations at U.S. Bancorp (USB), where he led all physical operations, including the distribution strategy for the bank’s branch and ATM network.
NYCB, which in January said it was prepping for outsized losses on commercial real estate loans, appointed three other executives:
- Bao Nguyen, senior executive vice president, general counsel & chief of staff;
- Scott Shepherd, senior executive vice president, head of Commercial Real Estate Lending; and
- James Simons, executive vice president, special advisor to the CEO.
