Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have released a new trailer for the rapidly-approaching <i>Star Wars Outlaws</i>, a third-person action-adventure video game focusing on the criminal underworld of the galaxy far, far away. Have a look:
In the game, you take on the role of Kay Vess, a thief with a great shag haircut intent on putting a crew together to heist a criminal bigwig 157 million credits. Alongside her pet, a hairy axolotl-looking creature named Nix, she navigates the intricacies of four of the galaxy’s major criminal organizations: familiar factions like the Hutt Cartel, the Pyke Syndicate, and Crimson Dawn, as well as a new group created for Outlaws, the Ashiga Clan, insectoid criminals from the ice world of Kijimi introduced The Rise of Skywalker. Sounds funs, right?
Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the trailer has a lot of focus on Kay’s journey across the galaxy, but in particular on everyone’s wretched hive of scum and villainy, Tatooine. There’s Gamorreans to be punched, fathier races to bet on, and, it seems, like a scrap with Jabba’s prize Rancor. Honestly, I cannot get over that shag haircut– she uses a data spike for a hairpin to crack open doors? I love her already.
Star Wars: Outlaws is set to release this August 30 on Playstation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S.
