Total active rigs drilling for oil and gas in the U.S. fell by 6 to 613, the count’s fifth decline in the past six weeks, Baker Hughes reported Friday.
Drilling rigs targeting crude oil in the U.S. fell by 5 this week to 506, while gas rigs dropped by 1 to 105 and 2 rigs were classified as miscellaneous.
Rigs targeting oil in the Permian Basin declined by 1 to 313, while the Eagle Ford remained flat at 50.
