DFS: Staying Away From Stacks Today

0

A real swing and a miss last week by having a Royals stack. That’s on me, my bad. Today is a new day, and we will be better. So, here we go. We’re going to put some Yankees in this lineup. Yesterday’s game was filled with tension as Soto ran into Westburg on the bases, and the Judge being hit by pitch shortly after. Then we’re going to find some studs at good prices and get them into this lineup. Not quite a stack, but just a well-constructed lineup top to bottom.  Check out more below for these Yankees picks and some others to create a winning lineup for tonight’s games that start at 7:05pm EST.

Hunter Brown SP $7,000 – Feels gross right? Hear me out. Since May 1st, Brown is 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 52 Ks, and 15 walks in 45 innings. He’s had multiple 20-point performances. It certainly feels like he’s coming into form and pitching more like the “mini-Verlander” that many in Houston thought he could be. Not to mention, the White Sox are bad at baseball. Brown continues his success against the worst in the MLB.

Taj Bradley, SP: $8,000 – Bradley only has 2 starts where he failed to reach 20 points. One he finished with 19.7 and the other -11.7, which was clearly his worst start of the season. He’s capable of double-digit strikeouts every time he toes the rubber, and I think he also continues his success tonight against the Twins. We kindly ask that he doesn’t pitch to Royce Lewis.

Pete Alonso, 1B: $5,000 – Polar Bear Pete is not impacted by warm weather as he has been terrific at the plate recently. Games of 25, 17, and 14 points over his last 3, he’s back at it tonight in the hitter friendly Globe Life Field. Lefty Andrew Heaney on the mound for the Rangers, and he’s been up-and-down this year. He’s coming off giving up 3 runs to the Mariners and Giants, where he gave up a home run in each start. Pete stays hot tonight and gets one for us.

Isaac Paredes, 3B: $4,200 – I considered him for 1B, but liked that we were able to slot Parades in at 3B for this slate. He doesn’t blow you away, but he’s a consistent ball player. He’s hitting .282 with 10 homers and 38 rbi, which is good for 7.5 fppg. His last home run was May 30th, so safe to say that he is due. Start Parades with confidence as it’s likely he gets to his season average of 7.5.

Anthony Volpe, SS: $6,300 –It seems like Volpe has been quietly having a solid season and he’s doing so in plenty of different ways. He’s found his way into the leadoff spot hitting in from of Soto and Judge, so there’s plenty of opportunity to score runs (yes I know Judge might not play tonight). If he gets on base, he’s a threat to steal some bags as he has 15 this season. Volpe and the other Yankees are vibe picks because they will come out ready to play in an attempt to embarrass this young O’s team. It starts at the top of the order with Volpe.

Giancarlo Stanton OF: $4,900 – Stanton becomes even more valuable if Judge gets the night off. Sticking to the theme of the Yankees playing angry, what better way than to have Stanton hit a ball 120mph out of the stadium!? There’s some risk with Stanton as he can easily put up 0 points. Let’s leave the negativity at the door, he’s getting homerun number 18 tonight.

Adolis Garcia, OF: $4,000 – Garcia got the night off on Tuesday, so we expect him ready to go on Wednesday. Another guy in this write-up that’s “due”, he hasn’t homered since June 2nd, but still averages 7.2 fppg. He’s not having a great season, but he’s worth the risk of having a big night against Sean Manea.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

As of 9 am EST Wednesday, there is no potential for delays or rainouts. Strong winds over 10mph coming in from right field in the Astros/White Sox game. Some wind in Orioles/Yankees as well that will be east to west. I left 2B and OF purposely empty here, use your imagination. Arozarena, Verdugo, Torres, and Josh Lowe are all solid value picks that can be inserted into this lineup.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Both the Astros/White Sox and Rays/Twins have the lowest totals of the slate with 7.5. I like that with our pitching choices. Somehow, the Dodgers/Rockies game is only set to 10 in Colorado. Maybe the books think the Dodgers will struggle without Mookie, but they did not last night. The Royals and Cole Ragans are -175 favorites against the A’s.
