Juicy J Drops Jazz Rap Album ‘Ravenite Social Club’ Featuring Cordae & Robert Glasper

Juicy J has recruited Cordae and Robert Glasper for his experimental new jazz rap album Ravenite Social Club.

The Memphis legend has gone on a late career left turn to expand his sound beyond the hard Southern rap he has become synonymous with over the last 20 years.

Not that Juicy J has forgotten his roots, though, as he’s dedicated “To You” from his new album to the seminal rap group he co-founded and former member, the late Gangsta Boo.

Alongside the track’s accompanying music video, he wrote: “This song is dedicated to the greatest rap group of all times Three 6 Mafia.”

The “Stay Fly” rapper also paid tribute to his collaborator on the album, acclaimed jazz pianist Robert Glasper.

In a video also posted on Instagram, he said: “Robert Glasper is a genius, bro. Pure genius, man. I first heard of Robert, he won like R&B Album of the Year [at the Grammys].

“I looked up on Apple Music and I just started listening to his music. He got some hard ass music. The man is a genius. Super talented. I was like ‘Damn, this n-gga jamming.’

“I hit him up, we got in the studio, vibed out. We made some dope ass beats. We was working on a lot of different things. We were working on some collab beats for Meg[an Thee Stallion] and some other stuff. I felt like it was an experience, not an album.”

The love was returned by Glasper who replied on Instagram: “Such an honor to be apart of this project with the ICONIC Juicy J!! We got more to do!!”

Ravenite Social Club contains one rap feature from Cordae who pops up on “Suicide Doors.”

Juicy J has had a prolific year, already dropping a surprise album in May called Mental Trillness 2, which like Ravenite Social Club was dropped unannounced outside of the traditional Friday release schedule.

That project featured a more traditional Hip Hop sound and contained cameos from SukihanaProject PatXavier Wulf and idontknowjeffery.

If his 2023 claims are anything to go by, Juicy J has plenty more music on the way.

“I got about 7 albums I’m dropping 2024 I never worked this hard in my life,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “after this I’m gonna buy a house on the beach let my hair grow all the way out & become a full time hippie [trophy emoji] ya dig?”
