Also, if you’re a sub (you should be a sub…it’s great value), you get access to RP Projections and the super badass Relievonator Game Log tool, in addition to all the other awesome tools we have to offer. Hittertron and Streamonator, etc.

Let’s do it to it.

Note: All stats and Player Rater values are accurate through Sunday’s games.

2024 SVHD Leaders

Weekly Saves Leaders

Everyone with 2+ SV over the Last 7

Weekly Holds Leaders

Everyone with 2+ HLD over the Last 7

Weekly Blown Saves Leaders :'(

Everyone with 2+ Blown Saves + Losses over the Last 7

Arizona Diamondbacks:

  • Paul Sewald 1 SV, 2 K, 1 baserunner in two scoreless. Not getting the amount of opps you might expect but can’t complain too much I suppose.
  • Joe Mantiply 1 HLD, 2 K in 1.2 perfect IP. Sexy 26.7 SwStr% fwiw. Kind of an anomaly for him though.
  • Ryan Thompson 1 HLD, 3 K, 0 ER in 2.2 IP. Allowed 3 H.
  • Kevin Ginkel allowed 3 R but none earned. Still gotta keep them runners from crossing home, my guy! Hit with 1 L this week.
  • Justin Martinez 0 H, 0 ER, and just 1 BB in 2.1 scoreless, striking out 3. Decent play for ratios/K if you can squeeze him in, but it doesn’t look like many SVHD are coming his way.

Atlanta Braves:

  • Raisel Iglesias 2 SV, 3 K in two perfect IP. Everything looked good as far as I’m concerned.
  • A.J. Minter 2 HLD, 2 K in 2.2 scoreless. Only 1 H allowed.
  • Pierce Johnson 2 HLD, 4 K. Did allow seven runners though, yikes.
  • Joe Jimenez 1 HLD, 1 BS, 1 L. I still consider both these guys pretty fringe, cuz it’s always gonna be the Iglesias/Minter show.

Baltimore Orioles:

  • Craig Kimbrel 3 SV, 2 K in 2.2 perfect IP. Didn’t have the whiffs this week but did have a good CSW%. His faithful owners have been rewarded. Bless ye. I told everyone to pump the brakes on the panic drops, so I hope you pards listened!
  • Yennier Cano 1 W, 2 HLD, 1 BS. Did all that in just 1.2 IP lol. Struck out 3, allowed just 1 ER.
  • Danny Coulombe 2 HLD. Struck out 4 in 2.2 IP and had a very nice 40 CSW%.

Boston Red Sox:

  • Kenley Jansen 2 SV, 2 K in two scoreless.
  • Chris Martin 1 HLD, 2 K in two scoreless.
  • Justin Slaten 1 W, 6 K in three scoreless. Kinda sorta got himself back on the map after this week, but it’s gotta be a deep format for me to have any interest.

Chicago Cubs:

  • Hector Neris only got to pitch one inning. Zeroes across the board, including 0 K.
  • The only SVHD came from Tyson Miller (HLD), who had 2 K in two scoreless. Nice metrics, and that goes for his last two weeks. This was his only SVHD in that span though. We’ll see if he can get more looks moving forward. Has a 0.69 WHIP (nice) and 9 K over his last month (11.2 IP).

Chicago White Sox:

  • Michael Kopech 1 BS, 1 L. Gave up 4 H, 2 HR, and 3 ER in 2 IP. Did have 4 K at least? One would think he would be a better closer, but alas he’s just as inconsistent as his team is bad.
  • Jordan Leasure 1 HLD. Allowed five runners but did strike out 6.
  • John Brebbia 1 HLD, 1 L. He’s the epitome of “meh.”

Cincinnati Reds:

  • Alexis Diaz 3 SV, 5 K in 3.2 scoreless. This is the Alexis I’ve been waitin for, pards! Only allowed 1 H and 1 BB as well. More weeks like this and he’ll fly on up them there Player Raters.
  • Fernando Cruz 2 HLD, 7 K three scoreless. My, my. That’s the Cruz that took the baseball world by storm a few weeks back. Hopefully these two can keep this up.

Cleveland Guardians:

  • Emmanuel Clase 4 SV, 2 K in four scoreless. He’s got a $10+ lead on #2 on both Player Raters up top. More like Emmanuel Not Close Who’s #1, amirite?!
  • Cade Smith had a negative FIP for the week, earning 1 SV and 2 HLD. Struck out 6 in three scoreless. Nasty 50 CSW%, as well.
  • Scott Barlow 3 HLD, 3 K in 2 IP. Did have a yucky 9.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, though.
  • Hunter Gaddis 1 W, 2 HLD, 5 K in 3.1 scoreless. Only blemish was 1 H. Metrics looked great.
  • Sam Hentges 3 HLD, 4 K in 2.1 IP. Grody 2.14 WHIP and 15.43 ERA. He’s not really worth it aside from streaming for a SVHD here and there.
  • Nick Sandlin cracked the Top 15 of the 5×5 Player Rater, but that’s only cuz of random wins.

Colorado Rockies:

  • Jalen Beeks 1 HLD, 2 BS. Ugly week all around. Might have lost his gig already.
  • Tyler Kinley 1 W, 1 SV, 1 HLD, 1 L. Had the trifecta of positive decisions, with a loss sprinkled in to remind you Rockies RP are dangerous fantasy assets. Kinley wasn’t bad, wasn’t great. The motto of most Rockies relievers in recent memory aside from 2022 Daniel Bard.
  • Justin Lawrence earned 1 L and 2 BS. Awful ratios. Awful metrics.

Detroit Tigers:

  • Jason Foley was bad. Did get a SV and HLD at least, but he also saddled you with a 12.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP.
  • Andrew Chafin wasn’t any better.
  • Alex Lange got optioned.
  • In short, this pen is in shambles all of a sudden. Even Tyler Holton was bad!

Houston Astros:

  • Josh Hader 1 W, 1 SV, 7 K in 4 IP. Just 1 ER, too. He’s back. If that line doesn’t convince you, maybe the 25.4 SwStr% and 39 CSW% help.
  • Ryan Pressly had the only HLD of the week. He’s fine. Boring.
  • Bryan Abreu struck out 7 in 4 IP. Good news: only 1 BB. Bad news: allowed 4 H and was tagged for HR. Still…he’s great. Buy low if you can! Add off your wire if you can!

Kansas City Royals:

  • James McArthur 1 W but 0 K in 3 IP. No walks/runs, though.
  • John Schreiber wasn’t at his best: got 1 HLD but also 1 BS, allowing four runners and 2 ER in 2 IP.

Los Angeles Angels:

  • Carlos Estevez 1 SV, 1 L, 0 K in 1.1 IP. He’s bad. Like I’ve said, gotta hold in SV-only, but elsewhere he shouldn’t be owned.
  • Luis Garcia 1 SV, 1 BS. Overall a good line: 2.2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K. Really strong metrics as well: 20 SwStr% and 51.4 CSW%. Might be looking at him full-time in the ninth before long.

Los Angeles Dodgers:

  • Daniel Hudson had the only SV. Perfect inning with 2 K, which equates to a -0.87 FIP and -0.60 SIERA.
  • Blake Treinen only pitched 0.2 IP, striking out both batters faced.
  • Evan Phillips is rehabbing. So far so good. Be prepared to dump your Hudson shares soon.

Miami Marlins:

  • Tanner Scott is yielding good fruit. Added another W and 2 SV this week, striking out 3 in 3 IP. Bro has 4 W, 3 SV, and 1 HLD over the last month — 0.00 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in that span. Not lights out like his 2023 self…also not nearly as bad as what he displayed earlier in the year.
  • Three guys had 1 HLD apiece…I downright don’t care a lick for anyone else this pen has to offer these days. If you’re in a deep league and need one of them for desperation holds, go to the bullpen chart and throw a dart.

Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Trevor Megill 2 SV again this week, striking out 5 in just 2.1 IP. Had himself a -1.16 FIP thanks to no walks. Metrics are deep blood red over his last month: 39.4 K%, 0.0 BB%, 22 SwStr%, 38.6 CSW%. That’s upper-echelon elite right there, pards. Bro is everything I hoped he’d be. He did also earn a BS this week, but who gives a damn.
  • The only other healthy name worth a flip right now is Bryan Hudson, who had just 1 HLD but 4 K in three scoreless. Metrics in excellent shape. Gotta roster him in SVHD formats.

Minnesota Twins:

  • Last week, nary a Twins RP had a SVHD. Different tune this week. Jhoan Duran led the way with 3 SV, striking out 3 in 3 IP. Nice to see a goose egg in the HLD column, eh?
  • Griffin Jax 2 HLD, 3 K in 2.2 perfect IP. That’s one good chucker of baseballs, y’all. Why don’tcha go on and peep that there Statcast of his.

New York Mets:

  • Edwin Diaz looked better this week. Had 1 HLD and 1 BS, but overall a purty decent line: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K. Very strong 46.4 CSW%. Think it’s only a matter of time before he returns to elite closer status. Buy low.
  • Adam Ottavino 1 HLD, 2 K in 1.2 IP. Not great ratios/metrics, however.
  • Reed Garrett took 2 L, oof. Very rough all around. Trending the wrong way for a lil while now, can’t lie. Sell high window might be a-closin.

New York Yankees:

  • Clay Holmes was shaky but good enough for 2 SV despite 1 BS and 1 L. Can’t worry about all that just yet.
  • Luke Weaver 1 HLD, 5 K in 4.1 IP. Walked a pair and gave up a pair of round-trippers, though. Otherwise his 0.92 WHIP looked good.

Oakland A’s:

  • Mason Miller was disgusting once again. As in, disgustingly bad in one outing but disgustingly good, too. One disastrous appearance aside, he still managed 7 K in 3.2 IP, generating 28.1% swinging strikes along the way. Struck out half the batters he faced. Still pound for pound the best in the business at the moment.
  • Lucas Erceg 1 W, 1 HLD, 2 K in four scoreless.
  • Austin Adams 1 HLD, 4 K in 1.2 scoreless. I still can’t believe I’m bothering to mention three OAK relievers at a time.

Philadelphia Phillies:

  • Jeff Hoffman 1 SV, 2 HLD, 2 K in 2.2 IP. Remains hella good in SVHD formats.
  • Jose Alvarado 1 SV, 1 HLD, 1 BS, 5 K in 3 IP. Aside from the BS, he was excellent. Both he and Hoffman have lots of red on their Statcast profiles. I don’t care that it’s lazy analysis, it’s true!
  • Matt Strahm 1 W, 1 HLD. No strikeouts but also no runs/hits in 1.2 IP. If Miller is pound for pound the best in the biz, Strahm is #2. On the year, he’s got 0.87 ERA, 0.51 FIP, 1.36 SIERA, 0.73 WHIP, and a 30:2 K:BB in 20.2 IP.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

  • David Bednar 1 W, 1 SV, 2 K in three scoreless. Maybe can still buy low on the guy? One of the best true closers we got in fantasy these days, folks.
  • Aroldis Chapman registered zero decisions and looked a little worse for wear. Allowed seven runners in just 1.2 IP. Yikes (but I still like him).

San Diego Padres:

  • Robert Suarez is #2 on both Player Raters. Had 3 SV this week.
  • The real star of this pen — even though Suarez cost you peanuts and is the best fantasy RP not named Emmanuel — is Jeremiah Estrada. I dunno if y’all remember his Cubs hype. I do, and I was kinda surprised he just fizzled into nothing. The Dads have given him a fair shake, and he ain’t disappointed. This week, he had 2 W and 1 HLD, striking out TWELVE in just 4.2 IP. Aside from one hit allowed, he was perfect. No runs, no walks, just lots of whiffs/Ks. Absolutely must-own in all holds formats.

Seattle Mariners:

  • Andres Munoz 2 SV, 4 K in three scoreless. We know how good he is. IDGAF about the four runners allowed.
  • Ryne Stanek 1 HLD, 1 BS, 4 K in 3 IP. Good metrics. Very good, in fact. Nice SVHD guy, very fringe SV-only guy since he sometimes gets the ninth. Don’t think anyone else in this pen is worthwhile.
  • Matt Brash had Tommy John. You mighta seen. You shoulda expected. All non-dynasty shares should be cut loose.

San Francisco Giants:

  • Ryan Walker 1 W, 3 HLD, 5 K in four scoreless. Huge week from this dude. Over the last month, no Giant RP has more SVHD (7) or WSVHD (9) than this guy. Add in all holds formats.
  • Camilo Doval 1 SV, 1 BS, 5 K in 3.2 IP. Not his best week. Elite ROS option nonetheless.
  • Tyler Rogers 1 SV, 1 BS, 1 L, ugly ratios/metrics. I would drop him for Walker.

St. Louis Cardinals:

  • Ryan Helsley 4 SV but otherwise an ugly week. I chalk it up to “happens to the best of us.” Been a damn stud all year. I love him.
  • JoJo Romero 1 W, 3 HLD, 2 K in five scoreless. Leads the league in holds. I love him too.
  • Andrew Kittredge 2 HLD, 4 K in 3.1 IP. Good depth option but clearly third on this totem pole.

Tampa Bay Rays:

  • Pete Fairbanks 1 SV, 2 K in three scoreless. Did allow four baserunners but I don’t care. I’m a big Fairbanks fan, and he’s doing all this while dealing with the loss of his unborn daughter earlier this year.
  • Jason Adam was a dud for fantasy purposes, his only decision being a loss. Whatever, he rocks.
  • Garrett Cleavinger is third-best in this carousel pen. Recorded a dub this week with meh totals/ratios/metrics. He’s fine, just not great.

Texas Rangers:

  • Why is it so painful being an owner of TEX relievers all of a sudden? Another dud week for Kirby Yates and David Robertson. DRob only earned 1 BS and 1 L and just outright sucked. Yates only pitched 0.2 IP, striking out one and walking one. Just a rough patch for the defending champs, but damn. Over the last month, Yates and DRob have combined for 7 SVHD.

Toronto Blue Jays:

  • Rough week for Jays RP owners. Only 1 HLD for Yimi Garcia, and Jordan Romano had a loss to show for his efforts. Happens sometimes. Can’t say anyone else back there is worth your while. So much for my very high Erik Swanson ranking in preseason lol.

Washington Nationals:

  • Kyle Finnegan 1 SV, 1 K in one perfect inning.
  • Hunter Harvey 1 HLD, 3 K in 3.1 IP. No one else worth a single fart’s worth of value in the WSH pen.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below so I feel all warm and fuzzy.
